When you use Recal, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name and email address from Google or Apple Sign-In.
• Calendar data: Event titles, times, and durations from your connected calendar. We use this solely to provide planning analysis.
• Usage data: Your planning preferences, completion patterns, and check-in conversations to personalize your experience.

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Analyze your calendar and provide honest planning recommendations.
• Track your productivity patterns over time.
• Power the AI check-in conversations.
• Send you morning plan and midday reset notifications (if enabled).

What we never do

• We never sell your personal data to third parties.
• We never share your calendar data with advertisers.
• We never use your data to train AI models beyond your personal experience.

Third-party services

Recal uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and cloud messaging.
• Google Gemini AI: Calendar analysis and conversational check-ins. Your calendar data is sent to Google's AI API for analysis but is not stored by Google for training purposes.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management.
• Google Calendar API: Read-only access to your calendar events when you choose to link Google Calendar.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely in Firebase Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit. Calendar data is cached locally on your device for offline access and automatically expires after 10 days.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Revoke calendar access at any time through the app settings.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Recal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google Calendar data to provide and improve the app's planning features.

Children's privacy

Recal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
